Mueller Industries, Inc. Mourns Death of President and Chief Executive Officer William D. O'Hagan

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mueller Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MLI) regrets to announce that its President and Chief Executive Officer, William D. O'Hagan, passed away today after a year-long battle with lung cancer. Harvey L. Karp, Chairman of Mueller Industries, Inc., issued the following statement:

"We are deeply saddened to report the loss of William D. O'Hagan, who passed away this afternoon. Our company has lost a dear friend, an inspirational leader and a man of the highest ethics and integrity. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill's wife, June, and his family. Mr. Greg L. Christopher, Chief Operating Officer, who had previously been appointed Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2009, will be the acting Chief Executive Officer effective immediately.
